بعد أن أثار الإعلامي جو معلوف قضية ملف جمعية "رسل الحياة" Mission de vie وهو سفير الإتحاد لحماية الأحداث، وما طاول القصر في الجمعية من تعنيف وتحرش جنسي وممارسات أخرى، فضلا عن مصير مجهول لأطفال رضع، وقد نالت هذه القضية اهتمام الرأي العام، سواء بالدعم لما قام به معلوف، أو معارضا بصورة سلبية لكل ما قام به.

وقد صدر بيان عن الإعلامي جو معلوف باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية في هذا المجال وخصوصا حول مصير الأطفال الرضع في هذه الجمعية وجاء فيه:

بعد أن طرحنا ملف الانتهاكات والتحرشات الجنسية والاعتداءات في جمعية أطفال  Mission de vie ، وبعد أن أثبتنا بالصوت ،إعترافات وتسجيلات وشهادات حول هذه الجرائم في حلقة الإثنين الماضي، إتصلت بنا عائلة كانت قد استلمت سابقا أحد الاطفال الرضع من الجمعية المذكورة، وأبلغتنا أن القيمين على الجمعية قاموا بإجبارها على إعادة الطفل الرضيع بعد إثارة القضية في الاعلام طالبة منا التدخل لدى القضاء لإنصافها.

إتصلنا بمندوبة الاتحاد لحماية الاحداث وأبلغناها باتصال العائلة بنا، وبناء على معطيات العائلة التي زودتنا بها ونقلتها المندوبة لحضرة قاضي الاحداث جويل أبو حيدر، طلبت منهم الحضور الى المحكمة لفتح تحقيق في هذه القضية التي يتبين يوما بعد يوم حجم الارتكابات فيها.
لذلك يهمنا أن نؤكد للرأي العام اللبناني والمنظمات العالمية التي تابعت بقلق حيثيات هذه القضية أننا تمكننا من معرفة مصير أحد الاطفال الرضع والذي أجبرت الجمعية على تسليمه الى القضاء بعد أن أبلغناه تمهيدا لاتخاذ التدابير المناسبة لمصلحة هذا الطفل وإثبات الجرائم التي ارتكبت من قبل Mission de vie.

وعليه فإن المعلومات التي وصلتنا من العائلة، تؤكد ما صرحت به مندوبة الاتحاد لحماية الاحداث في حلقة الاثنين حول تبديل أحد الاطفال الرضع، وإخفاء طفلين رضيعين والامتناع عن تنفيذ القرار القضائي، لا بل أكثر من ذلك، فلقد أتضح لنا وللرأي العام اليوم، السبب الحقيقي لاستعداد الراهبتين بأن يتم توقيفهما لإخفاء المخالفات القانونية والانسانية في الجمعية.

لذلك إننا نؤكد تعاطفنا مع العائلة التي استلمت الطفل الرضيع منذ أربعة أشهر وأجبرت على إعادته الى الجمعية ما يشكل ضررا نفسيا عليها ونتمنى من كل من لديه الرغبة بأن يكون عائلة بديلة تحضن أحد هؤلاء اليتامى الرضع باللجوء الى قضاء الاحداث فقط ، لا عبر أي جمعية أو جهة أخرى .

أما بالنسبة للإعترافات المسجلة والتي تثبت الضغط على أطفال وشباب الجمعية والارتكابات، نعلن أننا سلمناها مرفقة بإخبار اليوم الى حضرة مدعي عام التمييز القاضي غسان عويدات.

A statement issued by the TV Host and the Ambassador of the Union for the Protection of Juveniles in Lebanon (UPEL), Joe Maalouf.

What is the fate of the newborns in the "Mission de vie" case?

After we presented the file of sexual abuse, harassment, assaults, hiding two newborn babies and obstruction of justice in the Mission de vie Childrens Association, and after we demonstrated with voice, confessions, recordings, and testimonies about these crimes in last Monday’s episode, a family who had previously received one of the babies from the mentioned association informed us that the curators had forced them to return back the baby after the exposure of the case in the media, asking us to intervene with the judiciary in order to redress it.

We contacted the Social Workers at UPEL and informed them that the family contacted us, and based on the data the family provided us and which was transferred by UPEL Social Worker to the Juvenile Judge, Joel Abu Haidar, who asked from them to come to the court to open an investigation into this case, which proves day by day the scale of the crimes committed.

Therefore, it is important for us to assure to the Lebanese public opinion and the international organizations that have followed with concern the case that we were able to know the fate of one of the newborns who the association was forced to hand over to the judiciary after we informed them of the latest updates in preparation to take appropriate measures in the interest of this baby and proving the crimes committed by Mission de vie.

Accordingly, the information we received from the family confirms what the UPEL social workers stated in the Monday episode about exchanging a newly born, hiding two babies and abstaining from the judicial decision. Even more than that, it became clear to us and to the public opinion today, the real reason for the willingness of the two nuns to be arrested to conceal legal and humanitarian violations in the association.

Therefore, we affirm our sympathy for the family that received the newborn four months ago and was forced to return it to the association, which constitutes psychological harm to it. We wish everyone who has the desire to be a surrogate family to incubate one of these newborn orphans by resorting to juvenile justice only, not through any association or party.

As for the recorded confessions that prove pressure on the children and youth of the association and the crimes, we announce that we handed them over, accompanied by the judicial notice today to the Attorney General of the Judges, Judge Ghassan Oweidat.
